Who we are and scope
This notice explains how Blogging by the Minute collects and uses personal data when you visit our site or contact us. It applies to individuals in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. If you are outside these regions, our Privacy Policy still applies, and this page gives additional rights for EEA and UK visitors.
Data controller
Blogging by the Minute is the data controller for your personal data collected through this site.
Postal address: Connaught Place, New Delhi 110001, India
Email: privacy@bloggingbytheminute.com
We do not currently appoint an EU or UK representative. You can contact us directly using the address above.
The data we collect
We collect information in three ways.
- Information you provide: messages you send through our contact forms or email, your name and email address, and any details you include in your note.
- Information collected automatically: standard analytics data such as pages viewed, approximate location based on IP, device and browser type, referral source, and time spent.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files that help the site function, remember preferences, and measure audience size.
We do not ask for sensitive data. Please avoid including such information in messages unless necessary.
Why we use your data
We use personal data for the following purposes.
- To operate and secure the site.
- To respond to messages and support requests.
- To measure and improve content performance.
- To manage legal and compliance duties, including requests to exercise rights.
Legal bases for processing
We rely on several legal bases under GDPR and UK GDPR.
- Consent: for optional cookies and for contacting you when you ask us to reply.
- Legitimate interests: to run analytics that help us understand what readers find useful and to protect the site from abuse.
- Contract: when we communicate to deliver a requested service.
- Legal obligation: when the law requires us to retain or disclose certain information.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that has already happened.
Cookies and analytics
We use necessary cookies to make the site work. We may use optional analytics cookies to understand how people use our pages so we can improve them. Optional cookies only run with your consent where required. You can change your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Some features may not work without necessary cookies.
How we share information
We share personal data only with the following categories.
- Service providers that host the site, process analytics, or provide security tools.
- Professional advisers and authorities when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
- Parties involved in a business transition, such as a merger or reorganization, where data transfer is part of that change.
We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country, including in India and other locations where our service providers operate. When we transfer data from the EEA or the UK to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual terms where they apply and take steps to protect your information.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected.
- Contact messages: generally twelve months after the conversation ends, unless we must keep them longer for legal reasons.
- Analytics records: kept in line with the provider’s default retention settings or for up to twenty four months in aggregated form.
- Security logs: kept for a short period to investigate and prevent abuse.
When retention ends, data is deleted or anonymized.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights.
- Access: ask for a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification: request corrections to incomplete or inaccurate data.
- Restriction: request limits on how we use your data in certain cases.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format and ask us to send it to another controller where technically possible.
- Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including analytics, and to direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent: when processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@bloggingbytheminute.com. We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first. Contact us at privacy@bloggingbytheminute.com and we will respond promptly.
Children’s data
Our site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transport, access controls, and regular review of our settings. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for responding to these signals. We treat them as a preference but cannot guarantee changes to third party behavior.
Changes to this notice
We may update this page to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. The effective date at the top shows when the latest update took effect.
